With the success of Facebook still increasing in the best social networking stakes, I find myself playing scrabble more and more over there.

But why do some people even bother?

Don't look at me!

Cancer’s latest journal entry has really made me ‘think’.

I read all new entries by Cancer as it’s prudent as a CM to know what’s going on with VR. But not everything is ‘VR’ as this latest entry showed.

It’s not so much about the context or the accuracy of what he’s claiming but more to do with how individuals perceive history.

Words like ‘nationalism’ and ‘American pride’ were used and correctly so, but surely any country takes pride in its country winning at anything from sport to boasting the best universities or medical facilities in the word.

‘War’, who can take pride in such an atrocity? Sure for the sake of history and getting facts right I hear you all scream out. But in the end the historian has to be absolutely objective which is a state that very few rarely and really achieve.

It tickled me to think the war of 1812 was being compared (to a point) with the Korean war! Which lead to an increase in anti Americanism. Everybody just loves to hate America. Why?

When you have a country that self appoints itself as the World Police, right or wrong, ‘people’ just by nature look to blame authority for misgivings. We learn to do this in the classrooms, with our parents etc, I could debate the rights and wrongs all day here and it would be my opinion versus your opinion. What America has done (and Britain to an extent) is to give all free people the right to ‘that’ opinion. Thank you America.

Actually the historians have had a vote on this (lol because we have three countries proclaiming to be the winner!) and.. The highest percentage..wait for...went tooooooo the ..the.. Candians! So they won the war! But it's okay, the Americans still kept the British colours in their flag..so the Brits can't feel that left out, now can they? Grins..

Man arrested at Large Hadron Collider claims he's from the future

A would-be saboteur arrested today at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland made the bizarre claim that he was from the future. Eloi Cole, a strangely dressed young man, said that he had travelled back in time to prevent the LHC from destroying the world.

The LHC successfully collided particles at record force earlier this week, a milestone Mr Cole was attempting to disrupt by stopping supplies of Mountain Dew to the experiment's vending machines. He also claimed responsibility for the infamous baguette sabotage in November last year.

Mr Cole was seized by Swiss police after CERN security guards spotted him rooting around in bins. He explained that he was looking for fuel for his 'time machine power unit', a device that resembled a kitchen blender.

Who knows what they do in mental health facilities in Switzerland. Maybe they just left the door unlocked so he could just leave, since they didn't seem to care that he wasn't in there.
